An Art Show By The Youth of My Friend’s Place

Join us for an evening of food, drinks, and art at Hard Rock Cafe Universal CityWalk! Enjoy a curated collection of art and design pieces at our third annual "Love All Serve Art" show, created by the youth of My Friend's Place. Partnering with creative professionals in the community, the Transformative Education Program at My Friend’s Place provides our youth experiencing homelessness with the opportunity to express themselves in an original and safe way. Through creative self-expression, our youth are able to practice a number of important skills including engaging the imagination, building confidence and developing nonverbal communication, all the while shaping their own identity.
"Love All Serve Art" allows our young people to see their work—including photography, paintings, jewelry and fashion pieces—displayed and appreciated by the broader My Friend's Place community, with all proceeds from art sold benefiting the youth artists, as well as the young people of My Friend's Place. About My Friend's Place
For 29 years and counting, My Friend’s Place has been assisting and inspiring homeless youth to build self-sufficient lives. My Friend’s Place offers a comprehensive continuum of services to homeless youth between the ages of 12 and 25, and their children, helping our homeless young people to move toward wellness, stability and self-sufficiency. My Friend’s Place is committed to a trauma-informed, harm-reduction approach and low-barrier service model that emphasizes the value of each individual young person who walks through our doors.
Safe Haven Program - Our Safe Haven Program provides more than 1,400 youth each year with daytime shelter and drop-in services including food, clothing, showers, communication and transportation; emergency necessities alleviate the demands of survival that often distract youth from participating in educational or health-related activities.
Transformative Education Program - Through workshops and one-on-one sessions in the areas of education and employment readiness, creative and living arts, our staff members equip more than 600 youth each year with marketable skills, encourage positive behaviors, teach youth how to connect with resources that improve their self-sufficiency, and build rapport with youth who are reluctant to access more intensive health and mental health services.
Health and Well-Being Program - Clinical case managers provide more than 600 youth each year with services to address the complex array of issues of homeless youth, including pregnancy and parenting, legal matters, sexual health, HIV prevention, emotional well-being, crisis intervention and therapy to provide support for trauma, substance abuse, partner violence, anger management and mental health issues.
My Friend’s Place receives no government funding, instead partnering with private foundations, corporations and individuals who share our commitment to supporting our most vulnerable young members of our community. My Friend’s Place received a perfect score for financial transparency and accountability from Charity Navigator. We are committed to the highest level of financial stewardship, with 89% of all support going directly to services for homeless young people.
