The 17th Annual WIN Awards
with Julie Perez
The 17th Annual Women’s Image Awards were held at the Royce Hall in UCLA on February 10th and the night was full of inspiring men and women supporting a common cause: “a charitable organization honoring men and women whose outstanding artistry advances are the value of women and girls.” Honestly, I couldn’t of picked a better place to spend my Wednesday night. In attendance were Lily Tomlin, Felicity Huffman, Quincy Jones and the Honoree of the night Abigail Disney.
The list of winners included:
Helen Shaver for Vikings in the Outstanding Show Directed by a Woman category. Lily Tomlin won for Grandma in the Outstanding Actress in a Feature Film category. Felicity Huffman won for Outstanding Actress made for TV/Mini Series for her work in American Crime. Nikole Beckwith won for her film Stockholm, Pennsylvania in the Outstanding Film Written by a Woman category.
The event was inspiring and motivating! I got home and all I wanted to do was create, create, create. It was refreshing to be in an environment where women were there to support and celebrate each other. I give kudos to the Women’s Image Network for supporting and encouraging the content that has been created for women and girls everywhere.
