On November 12th at the Skirball Cultural Center the 4th annual Science, Engineering and Technology Awards took place. The SET Awards "are presented to movies, TV series, comic books, music, DVD, digital content, radio and television news programs, print and online journalism for accurate and impactful entertainment portraying and promoting the fields of science, engineering, technology and math." The awards show not only honors those in the media, but also the next generation of upcoming thinkers. Students that submitted their work to the Awards were able to showcase their projects at the "Student Innovation Exhibition" and were honored during the ceremony.
In a day when awards shows seem to be a dime a dozen, it is shows like this that truly honor things that are important. If you still don't understand why this is important, then check out my interviews with some of those attending the awards to get a better understanding.
