Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are officially announced
While most people already assumed this was the eventual casting it is nice to have it officially confirmed. Last week Samuel L. Jackson spilled the beans that Scarlet Witch would be played by Elizabeth Olson.
With that announcement accidently coming out, Marvel, Joss, Disney or whoever is in charge decided to just go ahead and confirm Quicksilver as well. Quicksilver will be played, also by the long rumored actor, Aaron Taylor Johnson. These look like great choices in our eyes and I think Marvel has a much stronger Quicksilver on their hands than Fox does. What do you think? Do you agree?

BOOM! Studios and FOX make Sweeet Sweet Legal Licensing Agreements!
It is always nice to see movie studios and comic and graphic Novel publishers playing nice. It is even better when that leads to the creators of the stories and characters get treated fairly. A new agreement between Fox and BOOM! Studios does just that. In what seems to be an amazing case of recognizing the talent that created such amazing stories the deal penned with Fox is exactly what fans of the source material should want.
The jist of it is this, BOOM! studios gets a piece of the pie up front and that amount is split between BOOM! and the creator 50/50! This is the kind of licensing deal we can get behind and we hope to see more of this kind of work!
It is important to note that there has been attempts at this previously. Dark Horse Comics and Universal had s similar arrangement. Sadly the movie it as based on, R.I.P.D., was such a bomb it didn't make anyone any money. Hopefully the same will not be true for Fox and BOOM!

GODZILLA!!! Teaser Trailer
It can not be found! I have tried people, I really have! Early last week the teaser trailer for the upcoming Godzilla movie (reboot?) was leaked online. It was taken down minutes after it was put up, everytime. If you missed it I appologize, because it was great. Not that that means anything as is often the case of teaser trailers. We should be seeing the official release of the teaser soon, but until then I am giving you the next best thing. I teaser trailer to 1998 Godzilla Movie with Matthew Broderick. Enjoy!
The Bad

This week we lost a great creator, author, visionary, Tom Clancy. Tom died this week at age 66, the cause has not been released. Tom was America's expert on writing the spy novel. His Character Jack Ryan has been and continues to be a movie power house. With novels (and eventually films) like the Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, and Clear and present Danger Tom Clancy created America's James Bond. But Tom was more than just a writer. He also created some of the most succesful video game series ever with Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell. He was a truly creative man and his work will be missed not just by the nerd community, but by people in all circles.
